Fashion and the Catholic imagination. . .
This was one of the days I knew retrograde wasn't going to hold back this time around. I knew it was going to beat my ass & feel no remorse. But yet somehow through every storm it has put me through it has had beauty at the end of it. I don't know why but it's helped me a great deal as how to complain less. I fully embody that god will not put you through anything you can not handle.
On this day July 27, one of my dear friends Clarine asked me to meet her at this address "9AM SHARP". Rushing to get ready, I thought it was go time, thought it was her wedding day. Not only did I rush to be there on a 90 degree day, I did a full face of make up at 7AM only to be in the field alone for an hour in HEELS! No back up flats, nothing. While in the eye of the storm called retrograde I looked up to see a castle. Walked inside, low and behold it was an extension of The Met! Inside was the latest amazing exhibition: Heavenly Bodies - Fashion and the Catholic Imagination (this years theme for MET GALA)! Two hours later when she arrived I learned I was there to help Clarine and direct her wedding shoot. I was just so happy the Lord offered me art + fashion to learn and read about as a trade for my understanding and not complaining.
Needless to say if you're ever uptown and love architecture, fashion history, and The Met. . visit The Cloisters building. It will be on display until October!
all these were taken my me on iPhone 7+ edited in Vsco. Theres sooooo much more gowns and history to learn that I simply could not have all captured. It's worth the visit!
